At Great Life Church, we are passionate about helping people know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference. We are seeking a passionate, organized, and spiritually mature Kids Pastor / Kids Ministry Leader to lead and grow our children’s ministry at our Ocala campus. This position is ideal for someone who loves Jesus, loves kids, builds strong teams, and creates engaging environments where children and families can thrive.

Summary

The Kids Pastor / Kids Ministry Leader will oversee all aspects of the kids ministry experience for infants through elementary-age children (up to 5th Grade) during weekly services and special events. This leader will recruit and develop volunteers, partner with parents, maintain safe and excellent environments, and help children grow in their relationship with God. They will also oversee areas like Child Dedications, Child Baptisms, and family-based outreach initiatives. This is a part-time position based in Ocala, Florida. Candidates must live locally or be willing to relocate to the Ocala area.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all weekly kids ministry environments (Sunday Services & Events)
• Create fun, safe, engaging, and spiritually impactful experiences for children (Following our provided curriculum)
• Recruit, train, schedule, and care for volunteer teams
• Build relationships with children and families within the church
• Ensure all spaces and procedures meet safety and cleanliness standards
• Prepare provided curriculum, supplies, and classroom materials
• Coordinate child check-in/check-out systems and volunteer communication
• Assist in planning special events, family experiences, outreaches, and holiday services
• Collaborate with church staff and leadership to support the vision of the church
• Maintain organization and excellence in all ministry areas
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Passion for children’s ministry and family discipleship
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and leadership ability
• Organized, dependable, and team-oriented
• Experience working with children or serving in ministry leadership preferred
  
• Experience working with, or overseeing team members to work with children with special needs one-on-one (Kids Life Pals)
• Ability to lead volunteers and create healthy team culture
• Comfortable with technology, communication platforms, and planning systems
• Must pass a background check
  
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  
• Must be in line with the vision of Great Life Church
  
  

Schedule & Expectations

• Part-time hours with required Sunday availability
• Some evening meetings, trainings, and special events throughout the year
• On-site presence required at the Ocala campus
