Sanctuary is seeking a full-time Next Gen Pastor (Family Pastor) to lead multiple teams of volunteers and oversee the discipleship of kids and students, 0-18 years.

Position Overview
The Next Gen Pastor will provide ministry vision, implement a cohesive curriculum, and serve as a pastoral presence to both children and youth. Will help Sanctuary to effectively reach students in the community and equip parents at home. Train, resource and schedule volunteer leaders in kids ministry. The Next Gen Pastor will rotate teaching and preaching with teams of volunteers, while being the primary teacher in Sanctuary Kids. As an associate pastor, will supervise a team of 12+ kids team members, a part-time youth director, and 6+ youth team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Spiritual Formation: Ensure a strong Spirit-filled and Bible based discipleship of Sanctuary's kids and youth.  
• Program Development: Cast vision and lead volunteers to implement age-appropriate ministry programs, events, and retreats to reach and disciple students.
• Teach & Preach: Rotate with volunteers as one of the primary teachers in Sunday Kids Church. Assist in Wednesday youth ministry monthly to ensure a cohesive Next Gen ministry. 
• Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers in the Next Generation departments.
• Pastoral Care: Provide counseling, guidance, and support for kids and youth and visit schools weekly.
• Collaboration: Work with the church leadership team and Lead Pastor to ensure Next Gen ministries are integrated into the overall church's vision and mission. Serve in unity with Sanctuary's part-time Youth Director and Youth Team for a cohesive Next Gen department. 
• Administration: Oversee the kids ministry calendar, communicate with parents, utilize weekly social media for communication and outreach, download and print curriculum for teams and ensure volunteers are trained and background checked.  
• Community: They will visit local schools weekly as an official campus chaplain.

• Credentialed with the Assemblies of God and provide positive ministry references that demonstrate:

  • A personable and engaging personality to reach students 
  • A humble and mature Christian character
  • Strong communication skills for volunteer and parent engagement.
  • Gifts in administration for planning events, organizing calendars and scheduling volunteers
  • Gifts in leadership for training and inspiring teams of volunteers.

Jena, Louisiana is a rural conserviative town in LaSalle Parish, Louisiana with a regional reach of 15,000 people. The people of LaSalle Parish are 85% Southern Baptist, primarily middle to lower class, and work primarily in the oil industry, health care industry, correctional industry, or school system. It is a very safe, hospitable and tight community, with a great school system. Passtimes for many include hunting, fishing, baseball, and football. Overall, Jena is a great place to raise a family.
