Job Overview: Young Adult Pastor

As the Young Adult Director, you will lead all aspects of the Young Adult and College-aged ministry (ages 18-30) at Trace Church. You will be responsible for developing, strategizing, and implementing the vision and mission for one of the premier young adult ministries in the Colorado Springs area.

Core Responsibilities

Ministry Leadership

• Oversee the Trace Church vision within the Young Adult Ministry.
• Organize and lead a weekly Young Adult Gathering, currently held on Sunday nights.
• Serve as the primary communicator for the Young Adult Ministry.
• Develop and implement a plan to get young adults involved in small groups, serving, and biblical communities.
• Plan and execute ministry events, camps, and retreats.
• Manage the Young Adult ministry budget.

Team and Discipleship

• Invest in the lives of young adults.
• Grow, develop, and lead a volunteer leadership team.
• Be passionate about discipleship and leadership development.

Preaching and Communication

• Demonstrate strong oral communication skills.

General Staff Expectations

• Attend annual team retreats and informal team gatherings for relational health.
• Live out and champion Trace's Cultural Distinctives.
• Participate in a Small Group and actively tithe to Trace Church.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent church experience.
• Experience leading a student or young adult ministry in a large church environment (at least 1,000 people AWA).
• Experience preaching in a large group setting (at least 300 people).
• A demonstrated calling to pastoral ministry.
• Alignment with Trace Church’s vision, values, and doctrinal Statement of Beliefs.

Preferred

• A bachelor's degree in a ministry-related field.
• Three years of experience leading a student or young adult ministry of over 150 people in a church of at least 3,000 people.

Employment Details

• Position Title: Young Adult Director
• Reports To: Executive Pastor
• Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt, Salaried
• Working Hours: 40+ hours/week
  Compensation: $50,000 – $65,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
• Potential: Potential to Host a Campus
• Work Schedule: Sunday – Thursday (Fridays and Saturdays off)
• Vacation: 15 days/year
• Sick Leave: Unlimited (tracked)
• Housing Allowance:  TBD based on qualifications
• Ministry Week: 1 week per year serving in an area outside your primary ministry
• Insurance: $2000 per person in family under 26 years old per year
